About

This website is a work in progress recalling the live music memories from the sleepy suburbia town of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and the bands and people who made them happen.

The research was initially inspired by an article I wrote for chairboys.co.uk commemorating the 40th anniversary of The Sex Pistols appearance at High Wycombe college in February 1976.

I hope this website becomes a chance to share your memories, memorabilia and mayhem from the long history of gigs in High Wycombe.

Aiming to return the spirit and inspiration that brought so many famous bands to High Wycombe – including The Who, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Thin Lizzy, Status Quo, T.Rex, David Bowie, Sex Pistols, Damned, Clash, Stranglers, Jam, Siouxsie & The Banshees, Adam and the Ants, U2, Kings of Leon and Killers. Plus all those local bands too.

This will be the start of a jigsaw, so get searching through the boxes in the garage and the loft and get ready to fill in the pieces. Any year, any band.
